Summer is the time for Backyard BBQ, Family, and Friends! We all want to have that backyard to show off and be proud of. Below are two tips to get your lawn ready for those get-togethers that everyone will be sure to talk about.
Tip #1
Knowing when and how often to mow will minimize the chances of damage to your lawn Not mowing frequently enough or even mowing too much can both affect your grass. Here in Tallahassee, FL you generally should mow every two weeks. Sometimes less such as during a drought or closer to Winter and Fall. The best hight for the blade in most cases will be over 3 inches. If you set the blade too low, so you can mow less often; you can actually end up damaging your grass.
Tip #2
Watering your lawn is the easiest step to personally take care of your lawn. It’s not just about how much water to use, but when to water as well. Be sure to water your lawn weekly, as well as at the first sign of drought. When possible you should water in the morning as the sun is coming up, watering during the heat of the day allows most of the water to evaporate and can even cause your grass to get burned by the sun. Remember water attracts the Sun.
